VAF SUSTAINABILITY CHART
Undeniably creating nothing at all would be the best option to be completly sustainable, however we obvisouly cannot do that.
So the best option to be sustainable for us is to always search for the least harmful solution and every year we try to add several steps if technology evolves.
We select our partners based on several criteria: impact of the product, where does it come from, where does it go.
We selecetd Molotow as our spray partner not only because their products are high quality, but they are the most innovative company regarding the development of their product line. The additives, the aluminum of the can, the water based line, all in all the can today has nothing to do with the can several years ago and the main office is 4h form our spot.
Sivacolor is a local paint supply manufacturer 20 min form Crans_Montana, all acrylic paint we use is alcohol and disolvent free and has the same impact as an aquarelle color.
Our lift partner Airnace is also local, aswell as our housing partner Les Roches who is on the forefront of sustainable business development in the region.
We have also become very rigorous with the longevity of our materials. Cans are reused for kids workshops, brushes are controlled so they don’t dry, protections are reused if the condition permits it.
Every site has also different bins so that normal trash, cans and paper are directly separated and brought to the recycling/waste disposal site.
When possible all transports of artists are done by train or bus.
With our partner Viva con Agua we also have eliminated all plastic bottles from the festival and replaced them with reusable bottles, since our local water is of excellent quality.
